Chuck and Cathy Woods with their children, Audrey and Emmett, have been faithful to the ministry of Family Based Catechesis since 2003.

A Family Serves the Ministry that Serves the Family

Audrey, their oldest, was 6 years old when they first begaChuck Woods 32016n to share their talents in the program and Emmett was 3 years old. Throughout the years, Chuck filled the role of Adult Catechist while his children and wife participated actively in various parts of the ministry.

Inspiring Disciples of Christ

In the last 6 years, Chuck has been the lead Adult Educator for this ministry. Using such tools as the Growing Faith Project and a study guide on Pope Francis’ reflections of the Corporal Works of Mercy, Chuck has inspired and challenged the group to become better disciples of Christ.

The Catechist is Catechized

Chuck has a deep desire and love of learning, which has served the Family Based Catechesis ministry well through the years. As Chuck joyfully shared insights each week, his faith grew as did the members of this ministry. We are grateful for his years of service and bless him as he devotes more energy to other efforts in the Parish.

Lenten Studies End with the Start of Holy Week

Family Based Catechesis has just completed six weeks of formal class time during the Lenten season. The sessions have been lively times of learning, laughing, praying and growing.

Pope Francis Serves as Inspiration to Catechists and the Group

The adults studied a booklet on the Corporal Works of Mercy, inspired by Pope Francis.  The Catechists worked hard each week to plan for and teach their classes about our Catholic faith.

Service and Devotion is Recognized

“A special thanks goes to all the teachers and families who participate in this lifegiving ministry,” says Kim Ward, Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
