Committing our God-given talents to ministry at Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School is just as important as Stewardship of Time and Stewardship of Treasure. It is how we gratefully give back to God in thanksgiving for the talents He has given us. There are many needs within our faith community that affords us the opportunity to give.

Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure pressed down shaken together to make room for more and running over.Pope Francis

At Saint Patrick Catholic Church we are grateful for parishioners who answer God’s call to serve and who have served for many years ministering to the faith community in our church, within our parish boundaries and beyond those boundaries.

Recognizing Parish Leaders Service in Ministry Life

We recognize lay leaders in ministry who have shared thier god-given talents— often times over many years to the Saint Patrick Catholic Church faith community.  Sometimes a leader hears a call to purse or re-focus and serve the Lord in a different way.  We are grateful for their generous gift of talent and support them in the new ways they are called to love the Lord.

Liturgical Commission

Thank you Amy Waller for representing the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd on Saint Patrick Catholic Church’s Liturgical Commission for 8 years. We are very grateful for her faithful service and the insight she brought to the commission over many years. Amy continues to serve the faith community through the work of the Baptism Ministry and to share her gifts with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in so many ways from working with the children to materials making. We are blessed by her dedication to ministry life at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.

Grief Ministry

Thank you Barbara Simpson for the many workshops and counseling sessions spanning 15 years of service with the Grief Ministry. Her skills as a Master Social Worker guided so many parishioners through the loss of health, employment, and family. Margaret Erickson answered the call to serve as the new Grief Ministry leader. We are grateful to be able to continue to provide the faith community at Saint Patrick Catholic Church with grief support when loss of any kind occurs.

Senior Ministry

Thank you Joan Doherty for four years of service as Leader of the Senior Ministy. Joan Doherty announced on February 5, 2016 at the Seniors’ First Friday luncheon that she is will continue as leader for the Senior Ministry through May 6, 2016.

Military Ministry

Thank you Danielle Gomez for helping form the Military Ministry.  Danielle has been leading the ministry which supports military families in our parish and beyond our parish doors since its inception in 2014.

Young Professional Ministry

Thank you Lauren Hobby for leading the Young Professional ministry. Lauren has relocated outside of our parish boundaries.

Answering the Call

Senior Ministry, Military Ministry, Young Professionals are in need of leadership, while CLOW leadership is in need of support. Are you feeling called to serve?  Need a pep talk— listen to Deacon Bill Eckert and parishioner Rob Silva reflect on how Pope Francis called each and everyone of us to answer the call to serve.

More on CLOW

Lisa Beritich and Donna Añel are the leaders of Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) and they are seeking support for the program to ensure it continues to serve our children. It is not babysitting, it is faith-forming and church-building.  The Scripture, which is proclaimed in CLOW clearly indicates we all should be serving as evangelists.  We can be confident that God has equipped us to do exactly what he wants us to do, exactly how and when he wants us to do it. CLOW is one way we are invited to proclaim the Word of God.

We will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonders… So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting His glorious miracles.Psalm 78:4,7

You do not have to be a theologian or a Bible expert. All you need is a heart for working with children.  There is a book with a script to guide you! And you will work along side someone who will mentor you.

CLOW is looking for adults who can commit to serve for 20 minutes during Mass one Sunday a month.  Service counts for double commitment volunteer hours for Saint Patrick Catholic School families.  Converned about missing the homily?  The homilies are recorded and available on myParish with the click of a button on your phone, on YouTube— just subscibe and receive notifications when the latest homily is uploaded or check the Homilies page on the parish website for an archived listing of homilies— as far back as   August 2015.

Ministry Leadership

In the book, Leadership: Magic, Myth or Method, leadership is defined as:

  • A person
  • Involved in a process
  • Of influencing and developing a group of people
  • In order to accomplish a purpose
  • By means of supernatural power (God— in case you weren’t sure)

Leadership always begins with a person. A leader has a big heart and loves God in a big way.

You are Qualified

God always qualifies the called.  Whether it is to lead the Military Ministry to serve the active and retired military and their families or to lead the Senior Ministry to enrich the life of seniors.  To lead the Young Professional to discover their talents or support CLOW in inspiring the youngest of our parish to life of discipleship.

Don’t let your talents “die on the vine.” By giving of your talents, you can help support our parish’s efforts to carry out the mission Christ gave us.
