As we consider the Holy Family’s need to flee to Egypt, we are called to remember the plight of so many people across the globe who are seeking shelter from war and persecution.
Celebrating National Migration Week
National Migration Week is January 8-14, 2017. For nearly a half century, the Catholic Church in the United States has celebrated National Migration Week, which is an opportunity for the Church to reflect on the circumstances confronting migrants, including immigrants, refugees, children, and victims and 
survivors of human trafficking.

This year, the theme of National Migration Week is Creating a Culture of Encounter and the Seattle Archdiocese’s newly formed Immigrant and Refugee Ministry, under the leadership of Joe Cotton, Assistant for Hispanic, Multicultural and Pastoral Care Ministries for the Archdiocese is co-sponsoring two opportunities for Catholics to accompany our immigrant, migrant and refugee sisters and brothers in western Washington:
Come and deepen your understanding of “Dreamers” in our area and across the country. January 9, 2017, 7:00 – 9:00 P.M., Isaac Orr Conference Room, 910 Marion Street, Seattle.
Join service providers and community leaders for a day of reflection, information, and connection. February 11, 2017, 9:00 – 4:00 P.M., Seattle University. The day of refelction is free, however registration is appreciated for planning purposes.
A Message from the Bishop
Archbishop Saratian issued a personal message directed to immigrants among our parish community.
The letter is a local follow up to a statement prepared by Bishop Elizondo that was endorsed by the U.S. Bishops in November 2016.
