Philosophy of Education
My teaching philosophy, especially in regards to Physical Education can be summed up by the phrase, ‘sound mind, sound body.’ I believe that physical education and an active lifestyle are essential to mental and spiritual well being. My goal as a PE teacher is to help build students’ confidence, sportsmanship, and physical well being through positive encouragement and development of skills in a way that can be carried into the classroom and everyday life.
I am a Montana native and a graduate of the University of Montana where I received a B.A. in History and Political Science as well as an endorsement for Secondary Broadfield Social Sciences.
I began my teaching career in 2013 as a substitute teacher for the Archdiocese of Seattle. From 2014-2015 I taught US History and AP US History at Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien. In the spring of 2017 I was welcomed to St. Patrick’s where I worked as the Resource Teacher. My coaching experience includes Head Track and Cross Country Coach at Sammamish High School (Bellevue) from 2013-2015, and Kennedy Catholic Assistant Girls Basketball Coach (Burien) from 2013-2014, Hellgate Assistant Girls Basketball Coach (Missoula) from 2012-2013.
In my time away from school, I enjoy hiking, camping, running and spending time with my husband and our son.
