Philosophy of Education

I believe strongly in the value of creative learning. I feel that integrating creativity into education helps all students to make connections and better understand the world around them. I think the visual arts play a major role in fostering that creativity.

Educational Background

University of Washington, Bachelor of Art

Teaching Experience

Before joining the St. Patrick staff, I have taught adult and children’s art classes since 2002. I have also previously served as a substitute teacher here at St. Pat’s and also throughout the Tacoma Public School district, and around Tacoma.

Notes

Besides teaching art to children and adults, I have, (and continue), to work as a landscape painter. I have been represented by the Harris/Harvey Gallery in Seattle since 1996, and my work has been shown around the country at various galleries.

I am a St. Pat’s graduate, and my husband and I are thrilled that our 2 children will follow me as students at St. Pat’s.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to share creativity with the St. Pat’s community!
