St. Patrick School has a long tradition and commitment to Spanish language learning. Spanish instruction at Saint Pat’s begins in 4th grade. It is a time when children are able to absorb and acquire language with little difficulty. The program builds upon itself as the students progress throughout their time at school.
High frequency vocabulary and expressions are taught and practiced using the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The classes are interactive where students are encouraged to work together as well as with the teacher. Cultural awareness and appreciation are regularly intertwined throughout the Spanish lessons.
