The Saint Patrick School Choir is an exciting musical opportunity for all students in grades 4 through 8 under the direction of Maria Valenzuela Lewis. In choir, students not only have the opportunity to learn songs, but also receive professional singing instruction, learn music theory, and are coached in performance, presentation, vocal health and team-building skills – all in a group setting.
Prepared to Succeed
Students also experience cultural awareness through the exposure to foreign languages and music history. Choir students are fully prepared to succeed in the reputable music programs at Bellarmine and other area high schools.
Variety of Music Styles
The choir rehearses four mornings each week, Monday-Thursday, from 7:30-8:20 a.m. No singing or musical experience is necessary to join the Saint Patrick School Choir. Students learn and perform a variety of music styles from liturgical, to classic and contemporary choral, to musical theater.
Choir students perform their music in public on a regular schedule throughout the year, including at school masses and prayer services, assemblies, concerts, parish luncheons and community events. Open registration to join choir is held twice each year: during the first two weeks of the school year in September, and again during the first two weeks upon returning to school after Christmas break in January.
