A Christmas Message

Dear Families and Friends,

On our last day before Christmas break, I was thrilled to see our little kids arrive in pajamas for “pajama day” and our older students dressed in “ugly” sweaters to celebrate the season. Teachers joined in, adorned with blinking lights, as Christmas gifts were exchanged for hugs of gratitude. There were other signs of Christmas as I walked through the school— packages wrapped for our Adopt-a-Family project and baby supplies for delivery to Pregnancy Aid. Amid the abundance of Christmas cookies around the school, the overflow of baby food for our December gift to the St. Leo Food Connection made my season bright.

The Christmas spirit comes in many forms but the source of our Christmas remains the same. We were able to celebrate Jesus as we gathered in the packed church for our Advent & Christmas Celebration. We sang with joy, and prayed in adoration for the coming of our Savior. The Festival of Lessons and Carols brought the first nativity alive, so that as we sang Gloria in Excelsis Deo!, you could feel the spirit of the season amongst us.

As the day ended and people exchanged Christmas greetings, I was overcome with the feeling of comfort and joy. It is time for a break and time to celebrate the wonders of His love.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and let’s pray for peace in our New Year.

Chris
