And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” Ephesians 4:11-12
Strengths is the ability to provide consistent near perfect performance in a given activity.
What is StrengthsFinder?
The StrengthFinder 2.0 process helps us to better understand our talent themes with Christ as the center of our uniquely created selves. It is never too late to become involved in Living Your Strengths. You’ll find much to deepen your relationship with God and others.
How will StrengthsFinder Help Me?
The Living Your Strengths program teaches a person to identify and affirm talents, and how to use them to serve others. Living Your Strengths shows a person how to use innate gifts to enrich parish life— right now. Every parishioner plays a role in energizing and shaping St. Patrick through Stewardship of Talent— from serving as an usher and a greeter— welcoming parishioners to Mass or to pastorally caring for the sick and homebound by serving as a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick, from organizing parish events to build community to serving as a leader in Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts. Living Your Strengths will help you find your role— and, most importantly, it will inspire you to discover your true calling.
Often times people try to improve their weaknesses when what they should be doing is focusing on the strengths. People are more likely to be motivated to get involved when their strengths are affirmed. StrengthsFinder measures natural God-given talents and identifies a person’s top 5 strengths— so that these talents can be used to serve the church through ministry work.
Unless people know the grandeur for which they are made, they cannot reach fulfillment and their lives will be incomplete. Nor will they know that they are called into interpersonal union with God and with each otherGo and Make Disciples, U.S. Bishops’ Pastoral Letter on Evangelization
Living Your Strengths Program
Free Living Your Strengths classes are offered periodically for those who are new to the concept and for those who want a refresher. Spiritual enrichment begins with turning talents into strengths. People feel more connected with St. Patrick when they are doing the most good. StrengthsFinder helps people use their innate gifts to enrich their faith communities.
