PHILOSOPHY
For centuries, spires have served as symbols of the Catholic faith. St. Patrick Catholic School has chosen the symbol of the spire to convey our educational philosophy.

St. Patrick Catholic School Provides value-based Catholic education, with strong academics, to the families of our parish, neighboring parishes, and region. We succeed in this goal through our S.P.I.R.E.S. philosophy.

PHYSICAL
Developing the physical potential of students through our P.E. curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Manifesting a commitment to the physical health and well being of our students.

  • Physical Education pre-school through eighth grade
  • Outdoor ecess, soccer court, covered basketball and Peaceful Playground
  • CYO sports; basketball, volleyball, cross country & baseball
 

INTELLECTUAL
Building academic skills in every child through the best teaching strategies for each child's age and learning style. Leading our students to be life-long learners.

  • Challenging curriculum taught by state certified teachers
  • Core curriculum includes; Religion, mathematics, language, arts, science, social studies, physical education, music, art, computers & library
  • Spanish basics taught & band available for grade 4&5
  • Grade 6 students learn chime choir, rhythm, dance and vocal ensemble.
  • Middle school electives includes: Drama, music ensemble, art, claymation, technology, journalism, yearbook, classic cinema, spanish and band.
  • On-Staff resource teachers to provide support
  • Standardized test include; Grade 2-4 (DRA) Developmental Reading Assessment, Grade 4-8 (IRI) Independent Reading Inventory, and Grade 3-8 (ITBS) Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
 

RELIGIOUS
Leading children to grow in the faith and love of the Catholic church. Teaching the church's doctrines and practices through daily prayer, participation in sacramental life and classroom instruction.

  • Catholic religion modeled and used throughout daily learning.
  • Weekly prayer service celebrated by the whole school.
  • Weekly all school Mass with student planned liturgy's including May Crowning and The Stations of the Cross.
  • Spiritual Retreats for students in grade 1-8.
 

EMOTIONAL
Fostering self-respect and the respect of others. Encouraging children to grow into caring and considerate young men and women. Showing love for each child.
