The answer is apps on your phone can make the Year of Mercy and Advent more present in your life with reflections and prayers everyday.

App Spotlight #1:  myParish

Advent_lowresMany parishioners at Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School have downloaded myParish app to their phone. Have you? Consider downloading myParish during this Advent season.  It is as simple as texting APP to 88202 on your iOs or Andriod phone.unnamed-1

Beginning on the first week of Advent, myParish will feature a special Advent themed background to celebrate the holy season plus a special Advent button featuring spiritual encouragemeunnamed-2nt each day of this holy season. Many parishioners experience Advent as only four days a year at Mass during the 4 Sundays of Advent.  These helpful reflections will help readers in reflecting on the Mass readings each day as we await Christ’s coming.

App Spotlight # 2:  365 Days to Mercy

Pope Francis invites all around the world to “be merciful, just as your Father is merciful,” during the The Jubilee Year of Mercy .  This theme is reflected in the elements of the app 365 Days to Mercy.

Our Sunday Vistory has created a free app to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy.  The app features:

  • Daily reflections on mercy
  • OSV Bookshelf excerpts
  • Year of Mercy resources
  • Pope Francis’ tweets throughout the year
  • Year of Mercy news stories
  • Divine Mercy Chaplet and Novena

The official Year of Mercy is December 8, 2015— the Feast of the Immaculate Conception to November 20, 2016, the Feast of Christ the King with the daily inspiration, stories, and news already available through the app— to  giving you a full 365 Days to Mercy.
