This summer Saint Patrick Catholic Church is the site of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level II, Part II Formation led by Rebekah Rojcewicz for adults called to the ministry of the spiritual formation of children.

WHAT IS CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD?

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the spiritual formation of children, ages 3-12. The best kept secret of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, is how this method forms the adult who has the privilege of being with the children in the atrium. The ‘atrium’ is the prepared environment where the adults and children work and pray together. It is a holy and lovely place where the Word of God is proclaimed and celebrated.

HOW DOES THE SHEEPFOLD SUPPORT CGS?

In the Pacific Northwest, a consortium was formed and the members of the Sheepfold Consortium  hold a vision for the sustainability of the life of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in the Pacific Northwest Region, as defined by the National and International organizing bodies of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The Sheepfold operates to ensure the continued formation of children through the CGS program at parishes across the region.

HOW CAN  THE COMMUNITY PROVIDE SUPPORT?

The support of the Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School is needed in the area of hospitality during the weeklong program.  Parishioners are graciously sharing their homes with 2 catechists and another parishioner is lending the use of a vehicle.  Other needs include nourishment— breakfast to fuel the day and healthy snacks to keep them going in the afternoon.  Atrium Assistants, Amy Waller and Kathy John of the CGS office at St. Pats are coordinating on site hospitality.  CGS Hospitality is a list of items needed.  Please consider supporting the formation training by providing nourishment for catechism who are traveling long distances daily for this program.  Contact Amy Waller or call (253) 383-2783 ext. 4112
