Our school uniform is designed to
be conservative in nature to enhance the learning environment
for our students. Uniforms are to be kept clean and in good
repair. Students are expected to arrive at and depart from
school in full uniform. Exceptions include changing for sports
games and practices, which occur immediately following school.
Fashion clothing may not be substituted for uniform wear.
TOPS - Boys and Girls
A. Collared Shirts or Blouses - All are to be Solid White in
color
1. Polo style with long or traditional length short sleeves.
2. Collared blouses or shirts with long or short sleeves.
3. Turtlenecks are acceptable. (No “mock” turtlenecks.)
4. NO emblem, logo or writing on tops other than approved
St. Patrick logo.
5. Must be tuckable in length and tucked in at the waist.
B. Sweaters and Vests - All are to be purchased from the Uniform
Store
1. Dark green, long sleeve, V-necked sweater.
2. Dark green cardigan sweater.
3. Dark green sleeveless V-necked vest.
4. Sweaters and vests must be worn with a collared
shirt or blouse underneath.
C. Sweatshirts - Green only
1. St. Patrick School crew sweatshirts; Purchased
through Dennis Uniform Only.

Sweatshirts w/Cadet Collar including
cuffs and waist band, for grades, 6,7,& 8.
Purchased through School Office Only.
3. Sweatshirts must be worn with a collared shirt or blouse
underneath.
D. Undershirts
1. Only solid white T-shirts may be worn underneath uniform
shirts with sleeve length of T-shirt no
longer than sleeve length of uniform shirt.
2. T-shirts must be tucked in at all times.
3. T-shirts with emblems, logos or writing are not permitted.
BOTTOMS - Boys and Girls
A. Pants - All are Solid Navy Blue in color.
1. All pants must be fitted with standard straight hemmed leg and
worn at the waist
2. Pant fabric may be chino or cord uniform-style dress slacks. No
denim. No cargo
pants. No jeans styled pants. No Dickies
Brand. No pants with exterior or stitched
pockets, rivets, buttons, snaps, etc.
3. Length at the top of the shoe, NOT dragging on the floor.
B. Shorts - Navy Blue, twill fabric walking shorts
1. May be worn September, October and March through June only.
2. Fitted and worn at the waist.
3. Length of shorts must be no shorter than slightly above the
knee.
4. No cargo-style shorts.
C. Belts – Plain solid dark colors only.
1. Belts should fit, and the end of the belt can only be two (2)
inches past the
buckle.
No chrome loops, studs, chains, holes, etc. Standard-size
buckles. No decorations.
SKIRTS
& JUMPERS – Girls
A. Skirts - Kirk Plaid purchased from the Uniform Store.
1. Worn at the waist.
2. Length – no shorter than the top of the knee.
3. Skirts for grades 6 through 8.
B.
Jumpers - Kirk Plaid purchased from the Uniform Store.
1. Jumpers for grades Montessori through 5, no shorter than the
top of the knee.

C. Crops – Navy Blue purchased from Lands End
Uniform Catalog
1. Crops for grades 6, 7, & 8 only. May be worn September,
October, and March through June.
SHOES & SOCKS - Boys and Girls
A. Shoes
1. Sturdy, fully enclosed, non-skid shoe. This eliminates sandals,
clogs, flip-flops, and slippers. No boots.
2. Shoes designed for laces must be securely laced and tied.
3. Platform shoes or shoes with heels over 1” are not allowed.
B. Socks
1. Socks must be worn and visible
2. Solid color socks of white, navy blue or dark green.
3. Solid white socks may have a small company/brand logo.
4. Girls in all grades may wear white, navy blue or dark green
tights.
OUTERWEAR
A. It is an expectation that outerwear be provided daily.
B. Outerwear depicting violence, rock groups, tobacco, alcohol,
or gang paraphernalia is unacceptable.
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS INCLUDE:
A. Undersized, oversized or unkempt clothing.
B. Hats, caps or head coverings of any kind worn in the
building.
C. Faded, off-colored or dirty clothing.
D. Baggy or sagging clothing.
SCOUT UNIFORMS - Boys and Girls
A. Scout uniforms may be worn on days when meetings are held.
P.E. CLOTHING
Optional for grades 6 through 8 – May be purchased through
Uniform Store.
No logos other than approved St. Patrick logo
A. Gray T-shirt.
B. Navy blue “gym” shorts or navy blue sweatpants.
C. Gray sweatshirt may be worn in cold weather.
D. Tennis/athletic shoes must be worn for safety reasons.
MAKE-UP & NAIL POLISH
No make-up or fingernail polish may be worn.
JEWELRY
Limitations are for safety reasons.
A. Only post earrings no larger than a dime with no “dangling”
adornments.
B. Post earrings limited to one per ear in the earlobe.
C. A wristwatch may be worn and should not distract from
learning.
D. No necklaces, bracelets, rings, anklets or other jewelry may
be worn. Necklaces or
pins with a religious significance may be worn.
E. Medic Alert bracelets or necklaces may be worn.
HAIRSTYLES
When in doubt about a prospective style, consult the principal
or assistant principal beforehand.
A. Hair is to be clean, combed/brushed and should not cover
eyes.
B. Sensational hairstyles such as spiked, shave lines, etc., are
not allowed.
C. Coloring of hair from its natural color is not permitted.
D. Boys’ hair should be no longer than top of collar in length.
NON-COMPLIANCE
Non-compliance with the St. Patrick School uniform policy may
result in, but not be limited to, the following consequences:
1. Warning.
2. Removal of the inappropriate piece(s) of clothing, jewelry
and/or make-up.
3. Parent contacted to bring a change of clothes or take student
home to correct
inappropriateness.
DRESS CODE AND UNIFORM POLICY
guidelines are subject to interpretation and change by
administration to ensure a conservative and consistent uniform
policy. Prior to making any doubtful purchases, check with St.
Patrick School administrators. All staff and school
administrators will determine and enforce Dress Code and Uniform
Compliance.
FREE DRESS DAYS
Guidelines:
Announcements of all free dress days will be sent home prior to
the free dress day.
Clothing must be in good condition.
Clothing must be appropriate clothing for school.
Skirts must be no shorter than 2” above knee.
Length of shorts must be no shorter than 2” above the knee. May
be worn September, October and March through June only.
Nice jeans or good sweatpants.
Very tight spandex or Lycra stretch pants are not appropriate
for school wear.
Tank tops are allowed, but no spaghetti straps. Shirts must be
of tuckable length.
Girls in grades 6-8 may wear minimal make-up, nail polish and
non-distracting jewelry.
Logos depicting violence, rock groups, tobacco, alcohol,
monsters, etc., are not acceptable. Camouflage outfits are not
acceptable. “Fad” chains, buckles, zippers, gang paraphernalia,
bandanas and similar items are not acceptable.
