Dear Parents,
This week we will celebrate the Ascension of Jesus
into heaven. It is the end of the Easter season. Jesus left
the sight of His followers, yet His presence in their hearts
grew even stronger. As an Easter people, we too keep the
strength of Jesus in our hearts.
The month of May will be a busy one for our class.
Wednesday, May 7th is a half day. We will
dismiss the children at noon.
Tuesday, May 27th we will have a field trip to Chalet
Bowling Alley for some fun! Thank you to the Sterino and Xitco
families for purchasing this outing at REACH.
We will be going to
Fox
Island for the day on
June 4th. We need parents to begin organizing our
day. Please let us know if you can help.
We are sending home our last book order of the year. This is a
great time to stock up on summer reading. The orders are due
back on May 13th. Also enclosed is a word list for
you to keep at home. These are words your child needs to be
familiar with for reading and spelling in First Grade. Thanks
to Stacey Johnson for getting the list ready for us.
We are still working on shoe tying. Each child can tie a shoe
to hang in our classroom as soon as they are ready. We are
making great progress; half the children have demonstrated their
skill!
We are passing on an important reminder from our school
administration:
THE AREA ON ‘G’ STREET IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL THAT IS MARKED
RED IS A NO PARKING ZONE. IN ORDER TO
ALLEVIATE MORE PARKING WOES, WE DO ALLOW KINDERGARTEN PARENTS TO
DROP OFF CHILDREN IN THAT AREA IN THE MORNING. (PARENTS DO NOT
LEAVE THEIR CARS.) NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO PARK IN THAT AREA AT
ANY TIME-BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL. CITY TRAFFIC LAWS AND THE
CONCERN FOR OUR CHILDREN DICTATE THIS. PLEASE DO ABIDE BY THIS
FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN. THANK YOU.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OUR GREAT MOMS!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Larkin, Mrs. Spriesterbach, Mrs. Leverson and Mrs. Pitts
