Mrs. D. Breikss, Mrs. K. Forte, Mrs. M. Hammer: AM/PM  MONTESSORI

St. Patrick School ½ Day Montessori Program

We offer a Morning Program which runs from 8:30am to 11:00am and an afternoon program from 12:30pm to 3:00pm.

A full class of the morning program consists of 16 children attending Monday through Friday.  The Afternoon program has 16 children on a daily basis consisting of: "2-day" children (Monday-Tuesday), "3-day" children (Wednesday-Friday) and "5-day" children (Monday-Friday)

Our 2 ½ hour program consists of the students, a Montessori certified teacher and a classroom aide. Our children spend classroom time with the music specialist and visit  the school library weekly.  We participate in the special assemblies and learning opportunities with the larger school.  We work on kindergarten readiness skills such as letter and sound recognition, shapes, color/pattern/sequence recognition, memory building, classroom and school behavior, and the development of social skills.  We nurture the spiritual, emotional, and academic lives of our students in a safe, cheerful environment.

                    God Bless,
                    Mrs. Donna Breikss
, Mrs. Kathy Forte, and Mrs. Mary Hammer

This Month in AM/PM:

Spring

The weather has started to warm up; we  try to get the children outdoors as long as it does not get too chilly/damp. Fresh air is important. Please make sure your child is appropriately clothed. We still have a few children that come to school without coats or jackets

Snack calendars for the following month will be sent home the last week of the current month.

Show and Tell

Show and Tell is an important part of our language curriculum. The children bring from home any object that fits our weekly theme. The children take turns describing the object in front of the group and then allow their friends to guess what they have. Each child has an assigned day to bring show and tell, it takes a while to work our way through the list each day. If your child forgets show and tell on their assigned day, they will have another turn next week.

Show & Tell information went home the last week of September. Your child was assigned a specific day of the week for their Show-n-Tell day; it will remain this day throughout the school year. Show-n-Tell subjects are in the Sunday column of your snack calendar.

We, the three day and five day children, will be spending time each week in the library with Ms. Ramming. The children look forward to Mrs. Hannes coming to our classroom for our music lesson.
