·        Creative Writing Practice – Daily free write in journals on weeks that don’t have D.O.L.  Writings this month will focus on using verbs to create an interesting piece of writing.  Corresponding with our Anne Frank unit, we'll do a journal writing activity based on Anne Frank's memoirs through her journals.

  • Essay Writing - Our final essay will concentrate on forming a strong thesis and supporting it with relevant examples.  The theme will be based on heritage..

·        Literature – We will do a final book report with the same Reader's Log format as in prior trimesters.  The genre is Fantasy/Science Fiction.

  • Oral Speaking - while oral speaking has been planned in the past through skits and in-class reading, this month we will have a chance to develop and deliver an oral speech after learning about what makes a good speech, listening to notable speakers and using checklists to create a great speech.  Speeches will be delivered at the end of the month.
