A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE CURRICULUM

FAITH:  Our 4th grade program focuses on good conscience and moral decision making. We do a significant amount of the year exploring Jesus' teachings.  We learn about the Saints and do a Saint Poster during the year.  We have an Easter People Retreat on May 9th.

SCIENCE: Fourth graders will investigate the human body, physics of sound, water science, and oceans this year in science.

MATH:  Multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, measurement, graphing, and problem solving will dominate our mathematic instruction this year.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Students will learn map skills, geography and Washington State History with Miss Cindy.

WRITING/ ENGLISH:  Students will develop their grammar skills and enhance their writing using the 6 Traits of Great Writing with Miss Cindy.

LITERATURE:  Each day, students will practice reading to themselves, reading to someone, and responding to literature.  In this way, and through book report projects, they will compare and contrast what they read in order to become more critical readers.
