A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE CURRICULUM
FAITH: Our 4th grade program focuses on
good conscience and moral decision making. We do a significant amount
of the year exploring Jesus' teachings. We learn about the
Saints and do a Saint Poster during the year. We have an
Retreat in April or May.
SPELLING: pretest is on Monday and the
final test is on Friday.
SOCIAL STUDIES: mapping, reading maps, and
Washington State History.
WRITING/ ENGLISH: do the 6 Traits of Great
Writing in all our work. Grammar helps to broaden their
vocabulary, word usage, reference and communication skills.
LITERATURE: we read in groups, then two's and
then by ourselves. Book Reports and writing about the books they
have read, compare and become critics about the books.
SPECIALISTS: Music, Library Media Center, Spanish, Art, and Physical Education.
MATH AND SCIENCE: is taught by Mrs.
Wright--please check her web page and student planners for assigned
work.
