May
has begun in full bloom. We have been very busy completing our
curriculum. In reading we have just finished our class novel. It is
titled Frog and Toad Are Friends. The children really enjoyed the
book and the many activities that went with it. In Math we are
completing the chapter about number order. We will soon begin
learning how to count money. In Religion we will study about Mary
and the rosary. The school will have a crowning ceremony at church
on May 1st. This is always a beautiful celebration of our Blessed
Mother.
We only have one remaining
tadpole. It is swimming merrily. It may change into a frog by the
end of the school year. This has been a real learning process for
our class.
In science we have begun the new
FOSS Science program. Our current unit is titled Balance and Motion.
We have done many balancing activities and the children have been
thrilled with each new discovery. I am really enjoying teaching this
new program.
We will have an all school field
day on May 30th. It will be terrific. Parents should watch the
Blarney Stone for volunteer opportunities.
