MEET THE TEACHERS

The approach is child centered. The individual child is the focus of education. The environment is planned to provide the kind of activities that are appropriate so that the child can learn and discover for him/herself. The program focus is on the development of the whole child: social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and intellectual.

Curriculum includes practical life, sensorial materials, math, literacy, history, geography, art, music, science, religion, and large and small fine motor development.

Children learn the skills necessary to develop into independent students with the ability to work cooperatively with others.

The Kindergarten program builds on the foundation of the Montessori Philosophy. The setting is combined classrooms with two certified Kindergarten teachers, plus one full time and one part time aide.

While focusing on the development of independent students we transition into a more traditional setting. The classroom provides multiple activities and centers with more time spent in structured activities. The student is presented with more specific goals. The gradual transition prepares the student for a more structured classroom setting with a focus on strong reading comprehension.
